I offer a friendly and helpful service that is designed to keep you informed without trying to bamboozle you with techno-speak. My aim is to help you develop your understanding of computers and software and hopefully improve your overall computing experience.

The Ethos

West Berkshire's PC Mechanic's aim is to help you get the most out of your computing experience. Whether you simply like to turn on and get to work, or if you prefer to 'tinker under the hood' I will be happy to offer support and advice, with plain English explanations. If you are not in the least bit interested in how it works; I wont bore you with the why's and wherefore's, I will get it working as quickly as possible for you though.

Hard Drive Recovery

Sooner or later it may happen, you can't load Windows and all your data is seemingly lost. Hard drives have many moving parts and eventually these ware out. Although we all know we should backup regularly, it's something that many of us fail to do. In most circumstances your precious data can be recovered and restored to a new drive. I offer a no recovery no fee service and can also advise on replacement hardware and restoration.

Broadband & WiFi

Home networks are really beginning to take off, and with broadband and Wi-Fi we are all experiencing the advantages of fast file sharing. The initial set up can be a little tricky and time consuming sometimes, and then there's the worry that you have implemented strong enough security. Why not take the hassle and guesswork out of setting up your home network. I will offer advice and support for all your networking needs, including parental controls for surfing the web, ensuring that you are secure and safe when using the internet.
